Description
Course Instructors: Daan van Oort, Diederik Hagenbeek
From direct composites to inlays, onlays, and tabletops—supported by dental photography and a digital workflow. The latest developments in adhesive techniques and digital dentistry make it possible to perform lateral restorations with increasingly minimal invasiveness and greater predictability. Based on the principles of Bio-inspired Dentistry, you’ll learn to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible with both direct composite restorations and indirect restorations, such as inlays, onlays, and tabletops. During this two-day hands-on course, both restorative treatment approaches will be covered in detail. You’ll walk through the entire clinical workflow: from diagnosis and indication to preparation, restoration, adhesive cementation, and finishing. In addition, you’ll learn when to choose composite or ceramic and how material properties influence treatment decisions. A unique component of the course is the integration of dental photography. You’ll document each clinical step yourself and use these images to critically analyze your own work. In this way, you’ll not only improve your restorative skills but also learn to professionally document your results for patients, colleagues, and referring dentists. Upon completion, you’ll have immediately applicable protocols for predictable, minimally invasive restorations and a practical workflow that you can put into practice as early as the next workday.
You will understand the principles of Bio-inspired Dentistry and be able to apply them in your daily clinical practice. You will be able to make an informed decision regarding when a direct composite restoration, inlay, onlay, or tabletop restoration is indicated, and make a conscious choice between composite and ceramic. You will master the principles of minimally invasive preparation for indirect restorations and be able to apply them clinically and correctly. You will be able to perform adhesive cementation according to a predictable protocol, with the goal of achieving durable and reliable restorations. You can use G-ænial A’CHORD to fabricate anatomically correct, esthetic, and functional direct composite restorations. You can take and use reproducible dental photographs to professionally document restorations, critically evaluate your own clinical results, and make targeted improvements.
