Description
Instructor: Marleen Peumans
Course on Direct Composite Restorations for Severe Tooth Wear Tooth wear is becoming increasingly common, and the number of patients with severe tooth wear has risen sharply over the past 10 to 15 years. In cases of pathological wear, targeted treatment of the worn teeth is essential to restore function, aesthetics, and durability. Especially among young patients, the preferred approach is a minimally invasive, adhesive method in which the teeth are built up locally or completely using direct composite restorations. This treatment preserves as much healthy tooth structure as possible and offers a predictable, efficient, and durable solution. Successful restorative treatment begins with precise planning based on: Study models Intraoral and extraoral photography A diagnostic wax-up Analysis of the occlusion and bite elevation During this hands-on course, you will learn the various treatment concepts for tooth wear, dental rehabilitation with composite, and direct restorative techniques. Both local and full-mouth dental rehabilitations are covered in detail. In the practical section, various techniques will be demonstrated and practiced, including: Reconstruction of the anterior and posterior dentition with direct composite Working with a simplified composite system Freehand modeling The liquid injection technique (injectable composite technique). In addition, extensive attention is given to the long-term durability of direct composite restorations in cases of severe tooth wear. Using clinical cases with a follow-up period of 5 to 10 years, you will gain insight into the results, maintenance aspects, and predictability of this minimally invasive treatment strategy.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Conduct a structured analysis of a patient with severe tooth wear, including an assessment of etiology, function, aesthetics, and occlusion. Develop a well-founded and predictable treatment plan for the minimally invasive restoration of severe tooth wear. Independently apply the various techniques for direct composite build-up in the restorative treatment of severe tooth wear, in both the anterior and posterior regions. To make an informed choice among the available treatment techniques, including freehand modeling, a simplified composite system, and the liquid injection technique. Demonstrate an understanding of the scientific rationale and clinical durability of direct composite restorations for the minimally invasive repair of severe tooth wear, including the evaluation of long-term results. This course begins on Day 1 at 12:00 PM and ends on Day 2 around 5:00 PM. * Please note: there is a typo in the price listed for this course in the educational brochure.
